Legacy Project - Honoring a Tradition of Community Trust

PNC

Oral Histories

Oral history interviews represent a unique and engaging way to document the past and capture personal insights, memories, and emotions for posterity. Their sense of immediacy and authenticity makes them a perfect complement to displays of artifacts that explore broader historical themes.

The PNC Legacy Project is archiving the voices and experiences of long-time employees, customers, and community leaders. These interviews explore a variety of topics, including the interviewees' work experience, the role of the bank in the economic and business development of the local community, and the shared values, beliefs, and practices that have characterized banking over time. Excerpts from these archived oral histories are provided below.

"Some of the stories we heard were funny, some were enlightening, but all of them were poignant. It is apparent that these people all share a tremendous respect for their banks. Each person really helped shape the history of their communities."

Dean Krimmel, Oral Historian
